General idea of duties for the Job Role:
The growth of residential buildings and construction starts with people and processes. This role is to help drive the growth inside of building single-family and multi-family projects. With 15 current builds across 2 locations in Dallas, we see an integral role of growth happening with this team.
Estimating and working to produce accurate budgets.
Value Engineering the build cycle and the elements of our projects.
Providing a dedicated approach to Purchasing that helps to ensure vendors on-time delivery and ordering with a Gantt Chart mindset. Tools and applications can be used to streamline these tasks orderly and timely.
Organizing / documentation of transactions for residential construction management, developer, home sales business; potentially more time in other aspects once developments mature through timelines. Accounting clean/set up project is the immediate need; once workflow processes are fine-tuned, the accounting processes will continue through the development and construction phase of projects. Knowledge of general accounting cycles; construction cost accounting is a plus. Knowledge of QuickBooks Pro is a plus (easy to learn for our uses).
Future part of role includes time helping principal with general office needs - calling on vendors/suppliers to organized records, pay applications/draw requests, and general due diligence tasks regarding real estate development projects and home building.
This role will have light actions in assisting with some administrative assistant responsibility related to real estate and construction (with an occasional errand or pickup/delivery out of the office).
Applicant must be familiar with day to day software applications, be a self starter and be capable of working unsupervised once you get your feet under you, but work in tandem with the needs of the principal.
Detailed, Organized, and Diligent are good qualities for this role; capable of switching from daily tasks to project tasks.
Work to be completed in-office initially and may have at-home options in the future as well as some project and site visits routinely.

Technology Requirements:
Proficient in: Excel, Gmail, QuickBooks (some training offered), BuilderTrends (or other similar construction management portal software types - some training offered)
Experience Requirements:
10+ years in the construction industry with a proven track record. Accounting or Bookkeeping experience within building companies, construction, or contracting-related client experience will be a plus as well.
